▪️SPIN WITH LEE ▪️

Lee’s spin class (also called indoor cycling) is a group fitness workout done on stationary bikes and set to music. The class simulates outdoor cycling with changes in speed, resistance, and riding position.

💪🏼Typical elements include:

    •    Warm-up — easy pedaling to get your heart rate up

    •    Flat roads — steady cycling at moderate intensity

    •    Hill climbs — increasing resistance to mimic uphill riding

    •    Sprints — short bursts of high speed

    •    Recovery intervals — slower pedaling between hard efforts

    •    Cool-down and stretching

The bikes let you adjust resistance manually, so beginners and experienced athletes can ride in the same class at different intensity levels.

💪🏼Common benefits:

    •    Strong cardiovascular workout

    •    Burns a high number of calories

    •    Low-impact on joints compared with running

    •    Builds leg endurance and lower-body strength

    •    Motivating group atmosphere

Class lasts 45 minutes.  The class is synced to music and focuses on athletic training metrics like cadence, power, and heart rate.

My class is a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) circuit. It is a structured, fast-paced workout that alternates between short bursts of intense exercise and brief periods of rest or lower-intensity activity. Typically, participants will move through a series of different “stations” or exercises—often including bodyweight moves, cardio, strength, or functional exercises—designed to challenge multiple muscle groups and elevate heart rate quickly.

    •    Intervals of intensity: Exercises are performed at near-maximal effort for a set time (60 seconds), followed by short recovery periods (20 seconds)

    •    Variety of exercises: Circuits may combine cardio (jumping jacks, sprints), strength (push-ups, squats), and functional movements (burpees, kettlebell swings).

    •    Time-efficient: HIIT circuits typically last 45 minutes but can burn significant calories and improve cardiovascular fitness.

    •    Scalable: Exercises can be modified to suit different fitness levels, making the class accessible to beginners and challenging for advanced participants.

    •    Dynamic and engaging: The fast pace and changing exercises keep participants mentally and physically engaged.

My circuit class is like a full-body, high-energy fitness “sprint” with short recovery breaks—designed to maximize calorie burn, boost endurance, and build strength in a compact timeframe. 😊
